LEAN 101 is a training event that introduces public sector employees to the LEANprocess improvement methodology. This training will help participants to think in terms of continuously improving processes within their agencies with LEAN tools. 

AMC now offers this three-hour training in individual counties by request.  Please contact Heather Bandeen, AMC Education Director, for more information or to schedule your county's training today.

The LEAN 101 training includes:

  • A practical demonstration about what LEAN means and the techniques improve efficiency.

  • What is Kaizen and is it something that would benefit your county?

  • A discussion about how Minnesota counties are currently using the LEANprocess.

  •  Resources available to share LEAN ideas.

  • Activities to reinforce process improvement techniques.

Participants will learn about the basic components of the LEAN toolbox, including:

  • 7 wastes

  • 5S

  • Standard work

  • Setup reduction (time-based tools of LEAN)

  • Rapid improvement Kaizen event
