The Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC), in partnership with Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative (RALI) Minnesota, is holding the County Opioid Summit to bring county officials and a variety of staff from across departments together to:
- Understand the nature of addiction and see that at the problem is more than a law enforcement issue.
- Hear how this crisis is impacting counties, from law enforcement to out-of-home placements.
- Share best practices from counties that have already implemented innovative programs that are having a positive impact in their communities.

Who Should Attend?
The County Opioid Summit is for any county official, department head or employee interested in coming together to find solutions to the addiction crisis that is impacting all of our communities.
Our goal is that this summit will attract a broad audience from all Minnesota counties, including commissioners, sheriffs, department heads, and corrections, public health, and human services employees who deal with the ramifications of this crisis on a daily basis.
We have heard from county leaders across the state that they feel overwhelmed by the substance abuse crisis, so our goal with this Opioid Summit is to present numerous substance abuse program ideas to illustrate the many, varied paths they can take to confront the substance abuse crisis. As part of the summit, we want to be able to better understand the problem, but also share the innovative and replicable approaches to effectively responding to the substance abuse crisis.
