COORDINATOR - Stevens County
The Stevens County Board of Commissioners seeks applications for the position of County Coordinator, a position which calls for exercise of multiple disciplines as the County’s primary facilitator of management needs. The successful applicant will: 1.) possess excellent communications skills, both in written and verbal form; 2.) have the ability to lead management meetings and facilitate performance evaluation systems; and 3.) be able to work under time constraints for the five members of the Board of Commissioners. The major components of the job include preparation of materials and official minutes of the County Board; serving as the county’s Human Resources Director; serve as liaison between the Board and the county’s department heads; assist the County Auditor/Treasurer in preparation of the budget process; supervise assigned staff; and maintain effective communications with the citizens, media, other units of government as well as state and federal officials.
Applicants must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in public administration, planning or business administration or related field and have at least three years experience in local government administration; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The hiring range for the position is Grade 23, Step 3 ($70,300) to Step 8 ($81,500), dependent on qualifications and experience. Stevens County offers an excellent fringe benefit package including paid vacation, sick leave, and monetary allowance to purchase health insurance. The county is currently remodeling its courthouse and new offices will be functional by January, 2011.

Information Specialist –JDAI, St. Louis County
Duties
1. Input and process information (such as policies) and data and compile reports from various JDAI partners including Arrowhead Regional Corrections, County Attorney’s Office, Law Enforcement Agencies, the Court system, and others.
2. Attend JDAI committee meetings, take notes, and prepare draft summary of meetings.
3. Under direction of JDAI coordinator, assemble and maintain data base of committees and members; Maintain and keep current e-mail groups of all committees and members.
4. Under direction of JDAI coordinator, arrange for meeting spaces, e-mail notices to committee members, and assist in preparations for meetings.
5. Assist in preparation of formal reports to Leadership and Oversight Committees.
6. Assist in development of Newsletters and preparing documents for the Web site.
7. Compile and organize data for quarterly and annual required reports to funders.
8. Other information processing duties and organizational task as may arise.
Contract PAY:$16 per hour; up to 18 hours/week not to exceed 72 hours per month

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER - Cook County
Inspects septic systems and provides technical assistance to septic system contractors in Cook County, MN. Assists with other environmental and public health issues. Year-round position working 40 hours per week. Salary range: $17.32/hour (step 1) through $21.76 (step 15). Required: Registration as an MPCA Subsurface Septic Treatment System (SSTS) Inspector or Advanced Inspector and possession of a valid driver’s license.
